AN Endorsement By A Conservative Centrist (testing system no pings)

You cannot discuss politics if you lack basic knowledge of world events. Our republic, as our Founding Fathers knew, could not survive without a free press. Today, I believe the press has become too "chummy" with politicians, choosing sides and loosing objectivity.
But, many journalists have spent lifetimes to bring vital information into our homes, often risking their own lives. Sadly, when I read the results of many polls, I question do Americans really care.
Far too many cannot name their representatives and even with all the news coverage, people don’t know who Donald Rumsfeld or the Dick Cheney are; let alone their position in government and that scares me and hopefully you.
If there’s time to watch TV, read the business or sports page, then there’s time for you to stay informed on local, federal and world politics and it’s your civic duty.
No one should ever enter a voting booth and cast a ballot based on pure emotion or ignorance. It may be your right, but it might also explain why 98 percent of the members in Congress are reelected, with approval ratings below 30 percent.
