The media does not hesitate to bring bad news into our homes daily. They exploit negative news. Many in media have said, in one form or another, that good news is not news. More recently and the person whose name popped up the most when I searched the Internet, was Gloria Borger. She is a great journalist with impeccable credentials. Ms. Borger is a contributing editor at U.S. News & World Report and writes the magazine's On Politics column.

It seemed to start when then, Vice President Bush, at the Republican Convention, in his acceptance referred to the "L" word (liberal) to describe his opponent, Governor Dukakis. It worked; he came back from trailing in the polls and became the 41st president.
